'Old Soul"

My husband has an "old soul". If you have not heard of the term, it refers to someone is acts, thinks and reasons like an older person; usually with more wisdom and insight than their own chronological age. My husband was raised by his grandparents and even though he is on the edge of baby boomer, he was brought up with a lot of traditionalist in him. More times than not you will find my husband joking and laughing and exchanging stories with the older person(s) at family events. We attend Thanksgiving dinner with his family and he is usually conversing with aunts and uncles instead of his brothers/cousins.

Greg's "old soul" has served him well in the his professional career. He never seems to treat seniors as slow and unmotivated. He gives them the respect that is due to them. He told me that he treats seniors with high expectations of their abililty whether cognitive or physical. He only then adjust his expectations when the senior tells him what they can and cannot do.

He is very comfortable around seniors and I can only hope to pick up or learn how to interact with seniors the way he does.
